Tramin Alto Adige Chardonnay 2022
Tramin Alto Adige Chardonnay 2022
The grapes come from vineyards that extend on hills adjacent to the mountains at an altitude between 250 and 500 m above sea level, on calcareous soils of clayey and gravelly conformation subjected to strong temperature ranges.
A long winter postponed the awakening of the vine to early April. A drop in temperatures after budding has in turn delayed flowering. Afterwards, the weather remained capricious with a warm June and a wet July that laid the ideal foundations for the start of ripening. August showed its best side with sunny weeks and exceptionally low night temperatures. Despite some brief downpours in late September / early October, the harvest, which began with a delay of approx. Ten days compared to usual and characterized by volumes well below average, it was marked by numerous hot days and increasingly cold nights.
