Castellare di Castellina was founded in 1977 by Paolo Panerai by uniting four contiguous Tuscan estates — Castellare, Caselle, San Niccolò and Le Case — in the Chianti Classico heartland near Castellina in Chianti. The estate is built on Sangiovese (with Canaiolo and Malvasia Nera), with the I Sodi di San Niccolò Super Tuscan as the flagship. Plus the Chianti Classico Riserva and the single-vineyard Vigna Il Poggiale.
