What it tastes like.

Frapin ChΓ’teau Fontpinot XO Cognac β€” a single-estate XO bottled exclusively from eaux-de-vie distilled at ChΓ’teau Fontpinot, the Frapin family chΓ’teau in SΓ©gonzac. 100% Grande Champagne Premier Cru.

Frapin has been farming and distilling on its Grande Champagne estate since 1270 β€” one of the very few cognac houses owning both vines and stills. ChΓ’teau Fontpinot XO is aged exclusively in dry cellars at the estate, giving more concentration and finer rancio than the standard XO style.

Crystallised orange, dried apricot, walnut, fig, leather and aged Limousin oak. The palate is dense and lifted, with floral Grande Champagne signature, sweet rancio, candied citrus and a very long, dry finish. A reference XO β€” drink neat from a tulip glass.

Bottle questions

Before you open it.

A few practical answers for storage, delivery, and choosing the right bottle.

How should I store it before opening?

Keep it somewhere cool, dark, and steady. Wine prefers cellar temperature; spirits are happier away from heat and direct sunlight.

How long will it keep once opened?

Wine changes quickly after opening; spirits and liqueurs generally hold longer if capped tightly and kept out of heat. If it is a special bottle, ask before opening and the team can give product-specific guidance.

Can I ask for a similar bottle?

Yes. Contact Caravan with this bottle name and the occasion; the team can suggest a close match, a safer gift, or a step up or down in price.

How is it packed for delivery?

Orders are packed in bottle-safe cartons. If anything arrives damaged or looks wrong, contact the team with your order number and a photo so they can sort the next step.

What about hot weather shipping?

The team avoids making one-size-fits-all promises around heat and carrier timing. For heat-sensitive or cellar bottles, contact Caravan before ordering and they can advise the safest dispatch window.

Why Caravan backs Cognac Frapin

Cognac

"The Frapin family's vine-growing history in the Angoumois traces back to 1270, making it one of the older continuously vine-farming families in Cognac. The estate is now run by Jean-Pierre Cointreau, a direct descendant in the twenty-first generation, and remains one of the few major Cognac houses where vineyard, distillation, ageing and bottling are all carried out by the same family business.
