What it tastes like.

Eric Bordelet Pomme Perlant — a non-alcoholic sparkling apple drink from Eric Bordelet's orchards in Charchigné (Mayenne), Normandy. Bordelet is the reference producer for French cider and perry, having trained as a sommelier and worked at L'Arpege in Paris before returning to the family farm.

Made from a blend of Bordelet's heritage cider apples, gently pressed and lightly carbonated, with no fermentation. A serious zero-proof option for the aperitif moment and for diners not drinking alcohol — with the same orchard signature as the rest of the Bordelet range.

Fresh-pressed apple, blossom, quince and a clean, faintly tannic finish. The palate is bright and lightly off-dry, with a fine sparkle and a long, fresh close. Serve well-chilled as a non-alcoholic aperitif or to accompany a meal. 0% ABV, 750ml.

Éric Bordelet is a former Paris sommelier who left the Arpège restaurant in 1992 to take over Château de Hauteville in Sainte-Suzanne, Mayenne, western France. His Poiré Granit and Poiré Authentique are widely cited in trade circles as benchmark sparkling pear expressions for the style globally.

Bottle questions

Before you open it.

A few practical answers for storage, delivery, and choosing the right bottle.

How should I store it before opening?

Keep it somewhere cool, dark, and steady. Wine prefers cellar temperature; spirits are happier away from heat and direct sunlight.

How long will it keep once opened?

Wine changes quickly after opening; spirits and liqueurs generally hold longer if capped tightly and kept out of heat. If it is a special bottle, ask before opening and the team can give product-specific guidance.

Can I ask for a similar bottle?

Yes. Contact Caravan with this bottle name and the occasion; the team can suggest a close match, a safer gift, or a step up or down in price.

How is it packed for delivery?

Orders are packed in bottle-safe cartons. If anything arrives damaged or looks wrong, contact the team with your order number and a photo so they can sort the next step.

What about hot weather shipping?

The team avoids making one-size-fits-all promises around heat and carrier timing. For heat-sensitive or cellar bottles, contact Caravan before ordering and they can advise the safest dispatch window.

Why Caravan backs Eric Bordelet

Normandy

After years at Taillevent, Bordelet returned to the farm in the Sarthe-Mayenne region where high-stem apple and pear trees had grown for generations. He applies biodynamic methods and uses slow, natural fermentation with indigenous yeasts. The poiré expressions — Poire Granit (granite-soil parcels), Poire Authentique (sweeter style) — showcase the complexity of old-variety pear fruit. The Pomme Perlant is a light, dry apple cider, and Nouvelle Vague is an experimental release. Bottlings carry minimal dosage and no added sulphites.
