Bottle questions

Before you open it.

A few practical answers for storage, delivery, and choosing the right bottle.

How should I store it before opening?

Keep it somewhere cool, dark, and steady. Wine prefers cellar temperature; spirits are happier away from heat and direct sunlight.

How long will it keep once opened?

Wine changes quickly after opening; spirits and liqueurs generally hold longer if capped tightly and kept out of heat. If it is a special bottle, ask before opening and the team can give product-specific guidance.

Can I ask for a similar bottle?

Yes. Contact Caravan with this bottle name and the occasion; the team can suggest a close match, a safer gift, or a step up or down in price.

How is it packed for delivery?

Orders are packed in bottle-safe cartons. If anything arrives damaged or looks wrong, contact the team with your order number and a photo so they can sort the next step.

What about hot weather shipping?

The team avoids making one-size-fits-all promises around heat and carrier timing. For heat-sensitive or cellar bottles, contact Caravan before ordering and they can advise the safest dispatch window.

Why Caravan backs La Cofradia

Jalisco (Tequila β€” slopes of Tequila Volcano

Tequilera La CofradΓa was founded in 1970 in Jalisco, Mexico, on the outskirts of the town of Tequila and on the slopes of the Tequila Volcano β€” both within the Tequila DOC zone. The distillery has been family-run for over 50 years. La CofradΓa operates a traditional production model: stone-lined brick ovens (hornos) for slow-cooking the agave hearts, milling in tahonas/molinos, natural fermentation without added yeasts, and double distillation in stainless-steel pot stills with copper tubing. The volcano-slope location gives the distillery direct access to the rich blue-agave fields of the Tequila highlands.

Beyond its own La CofradΓa brand, the distillery serves as the contract-production site for several third-party tequila brands β€” Casa Noble and Clase Azul (a separately-profiled producer in this catalogue) both have their tequila distilled at La CofradΓa under its NOM 1137 designation. The own-label La CofradΓa range is distinguished by hand-painted ceramic decanters, with the distillery's on-site TradiciΓ³n Mazahua connection mirroring Clase Azul's. The distillery hosts the Museo de Sitio del Tequila and the cavernous La Taberna del Cofrade restaurant for visitors.
