Caravan buyer note

From the famed limestone hill of Brezé, this 100% Chenin Blanc is whole-bunch pressed and fermented with native yeasts in stainless steel. Aromas of quince, green apple, lemon zest and crushed chalk open to a palate that is tightly wound yet expressive — layers of pear skin, flint and saline minerality carry through to a cool, lingering finish. Electric acidity and a subtle roundness give this entry-level Brezé cuvée remarkable depth for its class.

The house

About Arnaud Lambert.

Loire — Saumur (Saint-Cyr-en-Bourg + Brézé Clos) ·Est. 1996 (Domaine de Saint-Just); 2017

Domaine Arnaud Lambert is a Saumur-based Loire estate founded in its current form in 2017, when Arnaud Lambert merged his family's Domaine de Saint-Just with the rented parcels of Château de Brézé. Yves Lambert (Arnaud's father) had established Saint-Just in 1996, returning to Saumur from a previous career; Arnaud joined in 2005 and led the 2009 conversion to organic farming. The estate now works over 40 hectares of organic vineyard, focused on Saumur's two key varieties — Cabernet Franc and Chenin Blanc.

Bottle questions

Before you open it.

A few practical answers for storage, delivery, and choosing the right bottle.

How should I store it before opening?

Keep it somewhere cool, dark, and steady. Wine prefers cellar temperature; spirits are happier away from heat and direct sunlight.

How long will it keep once opened?

Wine changes quickly after opening; spirits and liqueurs generally hold longer if capped tightly and kept out of heat. If it is a special bottle, ask before opening and the team can give product-specific guidance.

Can I ask for a similar bottle?

Yes. Contact Caravan with this bottle name and the occasion; the team can suggest a close match, a safer gift, or a step up or down in price.

How is it packed for delivery?

Orders are packed in bottle-safe cartons. If anything arrives damaged or looks wrong, contact the team with your order number and a photo so they can sort the next step.

What about hot weather shipping?

The team avoids making one-size-fits-all promises around heat and carrier timing. For heat-sensitive or cellar bottles, contact Caravan before ordering and they can advise the safest dispatch window.

Why Caravan backs Arnaud Lambert

Saumur

Yves Lambert founded Domaine de Saint-Just in 1996 in Saint-Cyr-en-Bourg, Saumur — at age 47, having decided to return to his Saumur roots after a previous career. The original ambition was to express Saumur's two defining grape varieties — Cabernet Franc (red) and Chenin Blanc (white) — through the unique terroirs of Saint-Cyr-en-Bourg in the Saumur Champigny appellation. Arnaud Lambert joined his father in 2005, continuing the same vision; in 2009 the pair began the conversion of the estate's vineyards to organic farming and took over the farming of eight separate Clos previously managed by Château de Brézé.

In 2017 Arnaud established the eponymous domaine, merging Domaine de Saint-Just with the rented Château de Brézé parcels into a single 40+-hectare operation. The Brézé parcels are particularly significant — Château de Brézé is a UNESCO World Heritage site whose wines were historically traded yearly for Château d'Yquem Sauternes by French royalty. The estate's continental Saumur climate (with the Massif Armoricain creating an unusually dry rain-shadow effect) suits the Chenin Blanc and Cabernet Franc styles. The current range covers Saumur Blanc (single-vineyard Clos and entry-tier expressions), Saumur Rouge, Saumur Champigny, Crémant de Loire, and a range of single-Clos Brézé wines.
