What it tastes like.

From the red wine obtained from the owned farm, a fresh agricultural Red Vermouth is born. The infusion takes place in alcohol with herbs, and spices such as artemisia, thyme, oregano, rosemary, vanilla pods, quassia, rhubarb root, and angelica. The is then added red wine and sugar, then it is filtered and stored in steel containers for a few years month. On the nose it is intense, vinous, with balsamic hints, followed by cinnamon and cloves. The taste is sweet, leaves a slightly tannic note in the finish, well balanced. Long and dry persistence. This fresh Red Vermouth is produced using a red wine base sourced from our family-owned winery. Firstly an infusion takes place in an alcoholic solution with herbs and spices such as artemisia thyme, oregano, rosemary, vanilla berries, quassia, rhubarb root, and angelica. The red wine and sugar are then added and the mixture is filtered and left to mature in steel containers for a few months. On the nose, the bouquet is intense, and vinous, with hints of balsamic herbs followed by cinnamon and cloves. On the palate it is sweet, leaving a slightly tannic note on the finish. It is well balanced with a long and dry persistence.

The house

About Distilleria Negroni.

Veneto (Mareno di Piave, Marca Trevigiana) Β·Est. 1919

Distilleria Negroni was founded in 1919 in the Treviso region by Cavaliere Guglielmo Negroni β€” the same year Florentine count Camillo Negroni invented the cocktail that would later carry the family name. The two are unrelated. Guglielmo built the house on Treviso-area grappa and herbal aperitivos. The Palla family acquired the distillery in the early 1990s and now operates from Mareno di Piave in the Marca Trevigiana, alongside the Loredan Gasparini VenegazzΓΉ wine estate.

Bottle questions

Before you open it.

A few practical answers for storage, delivery, and choosing the right bottle.

How should I store it before opening?

Keep it somewhere cool, dark, and steady. Wine prefers cellar temperature; spirits are happier away from heat and direct sunlight.

How long will it keep once opened?

Wine changes quickly after opening; spirits and liqueurs generally hold longer if capped tightly and kept out of heat. If it is a special bottle, ask before opening and the team can give product-specific guidance.

Can I ask for a similar bottle?

Yes. Contact Caravan with this bottle name and the occasion; the team can suggest a close match, a safer gift, or a step up or down in price.

How is it packed for delivery?

Orders are packed in bottle-safe cartons. If anything arrives damaged or looks wrong, contact the team with your order number and a photo so they can sort the next step.

What about hot weather shipping?

The team avoids making one-size-fits-all promises around heat and carrier timing. For heat-sensitive or cellar bottles, contact Caravan before ordering and they can advise the safest dispatch window.

Why Caravan backs Distilleria Negroni

Veneto (Mareno di Piave, Marca Trevigiana)

Cavaliere Guglielmo Negroni established the distillery in 1919 in the Treviso area of the Veneto. The 1919 founding date coincides with the documented invention of the Negroni cocktail in Florence by Count Camillo Negroni β€” but the two Negronis are unrelated, and the distillery does not claim cocktail ownership. The early business was grappa-led, drawing on Veneto's wine-pomace tradition, with herbal aperitivos and bitters added through the inter-war period.

In the 1960s the distillery moved to Mareno di Piave in the heart of the Marca Trevigiana β€” wine country β€” and was acquired by the Palla family in the early 1990s. Palla also owns the Loredan Gasparini VenegazzΓΉ wine estate, and several Distilleria Negroni products are co-branded under the VenegazzΓΉ label. The current range spans aperitivos (Eleven, Sambuco Elderflower, Bitter Aperitivo at 11–25%), classic vermouth (Rosso, Bianco), Amaro della Casa, Limoncello, Amaretto and the long-running grappa line.
