What it tastes like.

Traditional infusion of aromatic herbs, spices, and in particular Red Radicchio, which gives a note and a completely original character and is typical of our areas. The aroma is medium intense, with evident notes of rhubarb, ginseng, and hints of citrus. On the palate, however, it is soft and balanced and they find each other always the sensations of rhubarb and ginseng, followed by the aftertaste of the citrus note due to the infusion of orange peel and bergamot. Persists for a long time leaving a sensation in the mouth delicately bittering of Red Radicchio. Resulting from the infusion of aromatic herbs, spices, and in particular Radicchio Rosso, a typical chicory of our area. It has a medium-intense aroma with hints of rhubarb, ginseng and citrus fruits. The taste is smooth and well-balanced with again notes of rhubarb and ginseng followed by the citrus flavor as a result of the infusion of orange peel and bergamot. It has a long-lasting aftertaste with a delicate slightly bitter note given by the Red Radicchio. Serve preferably with ice/To be served “on the rocks". Distilleria Negroni was founded in 1919 in the Treviso region by Cavaliere Guglielmo Negroni — the same year Florentine count Camillo Negroni invented the cocktail that would later carry the family name. The two are unrelated. Guglielmo built the house on Treviso-area grappa and herbal aperitivos. The Palla family acquired the distillery in the early 1990s and now operates from Mareno di Piave in the Marca Trevigiana, alongside the Loredan Gasparini Venegazzù wine estate.

Why Caravan backs Distilleria Negroni

Veneto (Mareno di Piave, Marca Trevigiana)

Cavaliere Guglielmo Negroni established the distillery in 1919 in the Treviso area of the Veneto. The 1919 founding date coincides with the documented invention of the Negroni cocktail in Florence by Count Camillo Negroni — but the two Negronis are unrelated, and the distillery does not claim cocktail ownership. The early business was grappa-led, drawing on Veneto's wine-pomace tradition, with herbal aperitivos and bitters added through the inter-war period.

In the 1960s the distillery moved to Mareno di Piave in the heart of the Marca Trevigiana — wine country — and was acquired by the Palla family in the early 1990s. Palla also owns the Loredan Gasparini Venegazzù wine estate, and several Distilleria Negroni products are co-branded under the Venegazzù label. The current range spans aperitivos (Eleven, Sambuco Elderflower, Bitter Aperitivo at 11–25%), classic vermouth (Rosso, Bianco), Amaro della Casa, Limoncello, Amaretto and the long-running grappa line.
