"Founded in 1959 in the village of Santa Maria La Palma a few kilometres inland from Alghero, the cooperative now works around 700 hectares of vineyard belonging to its 300-plus grower members. The plantings cluster around the Sardinian north-west coast, on calcareous and sandy soils that suit the region's headline white grape Vermentino.
