About Vinaceous.

Western Australia (Margaret River + Great Β·Est. 2007

Vinaceous Wines was founded in 2007 in Western Australia by marketer Nick Stacy with winemakers Michael Kerrigan (Hay Shed Hill) and Gavin Berry (West Cape Howe), as a non-traditional WA label sourcing fruit across Great Southern and Margaret River. The wines carry distinctive labels and storytelling β€” Snake Charmer, SalomΓ©, Red Right Hand β€” built around varietal-specific cuvΓ©es rather than estate-driven hierarchy. Stacy departed in 2020 with the Reverend V and Clandestine Vineyards brands; Vinaceous continues under the original winemaking partnership.

Bottle questions

Before you open it.

A few practical answers for storage, delivery, and choosing the right bottle.

How should I store it before opening?

Keep it somewhere cool, dark, and steady. Wine prefers cellar temperature; spirits are happier away from heat and direct sunlight.

How long will it keep once opened?

Wine changes quickly after opening; spirits and liqueurs generally hold longer if capped tightly and kept out of heat. If it is a special bottle, ask before opening and the team can give product-specific guidance.

Can I ask for a similar bottle?

Yes. Contact Caravan with this bottle name and the occasion; the team can suggest a close match, a safer gift, or a step up or down in price.

How is it packed for delivery?

Orders are packed in bottle-safe cartons. If anything arrives damaged or looks wrong, contact the team with your order number and a photo so they can sort the next step.

What about hot weather shipping?

The team avoids making one-size-fits-all promises around heat and carrier timing. For heat-sensitive or cellar bottles, contact Caravan before ordering and they can advise the safest dispatch window.

Why Caravan backs Vinaceous

Western Australia (Margaret River + Great Southern)

Vinaceous launched in 2007 as a Western Australian collaboration between three operators: Nick Stacy (then Sales & Marketing Manager at West Cape Howe, who became Vinaceous's founding Managing Director), Michael Kerrigan (winemaker and partner at Hay Shed Hill in Margaret River), and Gavin Berry (winemaker and partner at West Cape Howe in Great Southern). The model was deliberately non-traditional for the WA wine industry: rather than build an estate, the partners sourced fruit across the Great Southern and Margaret River regions and built the brand around varietal-specific bottlings with distinctive label artwork and product names.

The Vinaceous range is fruit-driven and varietal-led, drawing from the deep WA region pool: Margaret River for Cabernet, Sauvignon-SΓ©millon and Chardonnay; Great Southern for Shiraz and Riesling. The label artwork β€” coiled snakes, religious iconography, painted skulls, SalomΓ©-and-John-the-Baptist imagery β€” set the brand apart from the heritage-Cabernet Margaret River trade. The wines themselves work the standard varietal targets: cool-climate concentration on the white side, ripe-fruit Shiraz on the red side.

In 2020, Nick Stacy separated from Vinaceous, taking the Reverend V and Clandestine Vineyards labels he had created with him; he now runs Clandestine Vineyards alongside his wife Trudy. Vinaceous continues under the Kerrigan / Berry partnership. The current range carries the Snake Charmer Shiraz, Voodoo Moon Malbec, SalomΓ© Pinot Gris, Red Right Hand Shiraz-Grenache-Tempranillo blend, Raconteur Cabernet Sauvignon, Burlesque Sparkling, and a roster of seasonal limited releases.
