What it tastes like.

Substantially Cabernet Franc, with some Grolleau and a little Gamay, from 25+ year-old vines, grown on shallow soils of grey schist, rhyolite and sand. Cool-fermented in stainless steel with native yeasts for 2-3 weeks, followed by maturation in tank for 4 to 6 months before bottling. Malolactic fermentation is inhibited to produce a fresh, vibrant, yet textural rosΓ©, with good length and intriguing mineral complexity. Vibrant pink colour, this rose is made by direct pressing and vinified like a white wine to capture salinity and structure. No malo yet lovely texture and tension finishing dry.

β€˜The 2024 RosΓ© de Loire is a deeply characterful wine, absolutely bursting at the seams with Cabernet Franc signatures. Lavender, strawberry, lemongrass, tobacco and white pepper run through, but what’s most impressive here is the textural seamlessness and inner harmony. This is a classy, extremely well-made wine that speaks in a distinctive dialect.’ 91 points, Billy Norris, Vinous Media, May 2025.

Bottle questions

Before you open it.

A few practical answers for storage, delivery, and choosing the right bottle.

How should I store it before opening?

Keep it somewhere cool, dark, and steady. Wine prefers cellar temperature; spirits are happier away from heat and direct sunlight.

How long will it keep once opened?

Wine changes quickly after opening; spirits and liqueurs generally hold longer if capped tightly and kept out of heat. If it is a special bottle, ask before opening and the team can give product-specific guidance.

Can I ask for a similar bottle?

Yes. Contact Caravan with this bottle name and the occasion; the team can suggest a close match, a safer gift, or a step up or down in price.

How is it packed for delivery?

Orders are packed in bottle-safe cartons. If anything arrives damaged or looks wrong, contact the team with your order number and a photo so they can sort the next step.

What about hot weather shipping?

The team avoids making one-size-fits-all promises around heat and carrier timing. For heat-sensitive or cellar bottles, contact Caravan before ordering and they can advise the safest dispatch window.

Why Caravan backs Thibaud Boudignon

Loire

Thibaud Boudignon set up his Anjou estate in 2008, after stints at Joseph Drouhin in Beaune and at Pichon-Longueville Comtesse de Lalande in Pauillac. The estate works around 7 hectares in the Saint-Lambert-du-Lattay area south of Angers, on the schist soils that produce some of the more mineral examples of dry Chenin Blanc.
