"Bodegas San Alejandro was founded in 1962 in Calatayud, south-west of Zaragoza. The DO sits at altitude (around 700-1000 metres) on schist and slate soils, with Garnacha as the dominant variety. The cooperative's grower-members include some of Spain's oldest Garnacha vines, with parcels routinely over 50 years old.
