What it tastes like.

Byrrh Grand Quinquina is made to the original late-19th century recipe that earned worldwide fame and inspired fifty years of evocative poster art.
Byrrh combines a generous, port-like wine and mistelle base with a firm backbone of natural quinine to produce a fruity, refreshing aperitif by itself, with tonic and a twist, or paired with blue cheese.
In cocktails, Byrrh mixes well with vodka, gin, cognac, tequila, Irish whiskey, and grapefruit. Delicious in a Negroni as your sweet vermouth.

Byrrh and Dubonnet are two French quinquina aperitif brands acquired by Pernod Ricard in 1976. Dubonnet was first sold in 1846 by Joseph Dubonnet, originally formulated for French Foreign Legionnaires in North Africa to make their quinine ration palatable. Byrrh was created in 1866 by the Violet brothers in Thuir, Roussillon, and was France's best-selling aperitif brand by 1935 with around 35 million litres in annual sales. Both are cinchona-bittered fortified wines made with red wine, mistelle and quinine.
