"Sasanokawa Shuzo (็ฌนใฎๅท้…’้€ ) is based in Kลriyama, Fukushima Prefecture. The brewery began as a sake producer in 1765 and added whisky distillation in 1946, making it one of the early non-Suntory / non-Nikka Japanese whisky distilleries. For decades the operation produced light blends, but in 2016 the company commissioned the Asaka Distillery โ€” a dedicated single malt facility โ€” alongside its existing sake and shochu operations.
