Gilles Robin set up the estate in 1996, having previously farmed his parcels for the local cooperative. The vineyard covers around 18 hectares around Mercurol, on the southern flat-land section of Crozes-Hermitage — the larger of the two appellation zones, on clay-limestone alluvium rather than the granite of the Hermitage hill itself.
