"Bluecoat takes its name from the Continental Army's blue uniform, in keeping with the gin's Philadelphia origin. Philadelphia Distilling launched the gin in 2006 as one of the first American craft gins of the modern wave; the brand was acquired by Samson & Surrey in 2017 and subsequently passed to Diageo's New Riff portfolio.
