What it tastes like.

An aromatic white wine. Bursting aromatics and refreshing acidity. 
Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Blanc, and Riesling grapes were hand harvested in the cool of the early morning and delivered directly to the winery. All three varieties were immediately destemmed into picking bins, covered in dry ice and sealed to soak for 48 hours. After which the destemmed fruit was pressed, taking only free run juice to large format French oak for ferment. All components were fermented wild in their respective vessels and kept on fine lees for 3 months to build texture. 

TASTING NOTES: 
Brilliant platinum with green hues. Kaffir lime, green apple skin, gooseberry, nettle leaf and lemon thyme. Clean, crisp and fresh. Finger lime, lemongrass and guava. A long textural and mineral finish.

Turon Wines is a first-generation Adelaide Hills label founded by husband-and-wife team Turon and Alex White in the Lenswood subregion. Turon graduated with an Oenology Honours degree from Adelaide University in 2010 and worked in commercial winemaking before establishing the label. The pair built a small winery in Lenswood in 2017 and planted a low-yielding, high-density estate vineyard in 2020. The wines are vegan-friendly and minimal-intervention.

Why Caravan backs Turon

Adelaide Hills (Lenswood)

Turon White grew up in rural New South Wales — his parents were wheat farmers — and moved to the Adelaide Hills with the family as a teenager. He graduated with a Bachelor of Oenology (Honours) from Adelaide University in 2010 and spent the following years working in commercial winemaking before launching Turon Wines with his wife Alex. The label is first-generation, with both partners building the operation from scratch rather than inheriting an existing estate.

In 2017 the Whites built a small winery in Lenswood, the elevated cool-climate subregion of the Adelaide Hills that suits Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Riesling and Sauvignon Blanc. In 2020 they planted a low-yielding, high-density estate vineyard. The winemaking philosophy is minimal-intervention and the wines are vegan-friendly. The Artist Range, a sequence of single-varietal expressions with rotating contemporary artwork, is the label's mid-tier; the Blanc de Blanc is the headline sparkling wine, made from Adelaide Hills Chardonnay in the traditional method.
