What it tastes like.

Quartier is a small Mornington Peninsula label working with classic cool-climate varieties from across the region. The Pinot Gris is a textural, food-friendly style of the grape — closer in spirit to the richer Alsatian and Friulian expressions than the lean Italian standard, made from fruit on the peninsula's basalt and clay soils.

The 2021 vintage was a cool one on the Mornington Peninsula. Expect a lively bouquet of pink lady apple, nashi pear and spicier notes of musk and Turkish delight. The palate carries fresh white pear and apple-juice flavours into a layered, textural mid-palate underpinned by gentle phenolic grip — a savoury, slightly bitter close that distinguishes it from the easier off-dry style of much Australian Pinot Gris.

Pair with prawn dumplings, roast pork belly, soft cheeses or a charcuterie board.
