What it tastes like.

The Frédéric Mestreau XO No.28 Fine Champagne Cognac is an exemplary XO with its supple tannins, silky texture and smooth finish. It has spent over a decade masterfully maturing in Limousin oak casks. Containing Eaux-de-vie distilled using exclusively Ugni Blanc grapes, the blend brings together two crus, Petite and Grande Champagne, in order to produce a formidable Fine Champagne expression of pure excellence. \n \nTasting Notes: \n \nColour: Mahogany with hints of gold. \n \nNose: Dried fruits, licorice and a touch of leather and mango. \n \nPalate: Supple and silky on the palate, with notes of leather and dried fruits that lengthen into a long and satisfying finish.

About Frederic Mestreau.

Cognac (Saintes — Grosperrin family stewardship) ·Est. 1808 (original); revived in modern form by

Frédéric Mestreau is a heritage Cognac brand originally founded in 1808 and active until 1919, when it closed in the wake of WWI. Guilhem Grosperrin (director of Cognac Grosperrin) acquired 250 bottles from Abel Mestreau's personal collection of early-nineteenth-century eaux-de-vie, used those bottles to profile the original house style, and revived the Mestreau brand using modern Cognacs matched to that profile. The current Mestreau Cognacs are now produced and bottled from Saintes under the Grosperrin family's stewardship.

Bottle questions

Before you open it.

A few practical answers for storage, delivery, and choosing the right bottle.

How should I store it before opening?

Keep it somewhere cool, dark, and steady. Wine prefers cellar temperature; spirits are happier away from heat and direct sunlight.

How long will it keep once opened?

Wine changes quickly after opening; spirits and liqueurs generally hold longer if capped tightly and kept out of heat. If it is a special bottle, ask before opening and the team can give product-specific guidance.

Can I ask for a similar bottle?

Yes. Contact Caravan with this bottle name and the occasion; the team can suggest a close match, a safer gift, or a step up or down in price.

How is it packed for delivery?

Orders are packed in bottle-safe cartons. If anything arrives damaged or looks wrong, contact the team with your order number and a photo so they can sort the next step.

What about hot weather shipping?

The team avoids making one-size-fits-all promises around heat and carrier timing. For heat-sensitive or cellar bottles, contact Caravan before ordering and they can advise the safest dispatch window.
